What is collected in G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero! Compendiums 1–4?
These collections include every issue of the original 1982 series, G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero!, G.I. Joe Special Missions, G.I. Joe and the Transformers, and the long out-of-print G.I. Joe: Order of Battle and G.I. Joe Special #1.

What's in each individual compendium?
Compendium One: G.I. Joe: ARAH #1–50
Compendium Two: G.I. Joe: ARAH #51–78, G.I. Joe Yearbook #2–4, G.I. Joe Special Missions #1–15

Retail & Availability

Will a version of the G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero! Compendiums be released in comic shops, bookstores, or online?
Softcover versions of these compendiums will be available at retail starting in September 2024. However, the faux-leather hardcovers in this hinged box set with newly drawn box art by Andy Kubert and Brad Anderson are only available through the Kickstarter campaign.

Can I order multiple copies?
Yes! You can add multiple copies of Compendium One and the Joe or Cobra editions of the box set to your pledge as add-ons or through BackerKit after the campaign ends.

I want to order extra copies of Books 2, 3, and 4 without the slipcase. Can I?
No, we are only able to offer Compendium 1 individually.

Campaign & Pledging

Why are the G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero! Compendiums 1–4 being released through Kickstarter?
Releasing through Kickstarter allows Skybound to partner with the community to create a truly limited-edition, high-end collectible. Other versions of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero! are available at your local comic shop, bookstore, or library. Special pricing is also available for retail partners.

When will stretch goals be revealed?
The first batch of stretch goals will be revealed after the initial funding goal is hit. Further stretch goals will be detailed throughout the campaign.

What pledge manager are you using?
BackerKit. Once the Kickstarter campaign ends, you'll be able to add additional items and input your shipping address.

How do I manage or add on to my pledge?
Log into Kickstarter and click "Manage My Pledge" in the top right. Click "Change Your Pledge," then the "Pledge $xx" button. Select your add-ons and click "Confirm Change." Note: Do not refresh the page during high-traffic periods, or you may lose your pledge change.

Fulfillment & Shipping

When will I receive my rewards?
The estimated fulfillment date for domestic (US) orders is December 2024, subject to change. International fulfillment will likely occur in early 2025.

Is shipping included in the pledge total (US customers)?
Yes, shipping is automatically added to your pledge based on your selected tier. We charge shipping upfront so there are no surprises after the campaign closes.

Is shipping included in the pledge total (non-US customers)?
Yes, shipping is automatically added based on your selected tier and shipping territory, charged upfront.

How will these box sets be shipped?
Fulfillment is handled by Quartermaster Logistics. Each box set will be individually shrink-wrapped and put inside a bumper box, which is then packed inside a second box. Two box sets will ship in two different boxes. For additional questions, contact GIJoeKickstarter@Skybound.com.

Retailer Information

I'm a comic shop/bookstore/library who wants to order copies. What should I do?
Pledge at the HALL OF HEROES retailer tier. This provides access to ordering exclusive hardcovers and box sets at standard retailer discount (+ shipping) via BackerKit. The amount you pledge on Kickstarter will be applied toward your BackerKit order. You must have a Diamond or Lunar account in good standing. I'm a retailer who wants to pledge a limited-edition tier. Will I get a discount?
No. The limited tiers are extremely limited and cannot be offered at a discounted rate.

Product Specifications

What is the trim size of the G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero! HC Compendiums?
The standard Skybound compendium size is 6.625" x 10.1875".

What is the page count of each compendium?
Page counts range from 1,200 to 1,224 pages each.

What paper stock is used?
Premium 80gsm Ivory uncoated WF pure paper.

Can I mix and match the Joe and Cobra books in my box set?
No, it is not possible to mix and match books inside the box sets.

What format do the digital editions come in?
PDF.

Do the digital editions have both JOE and COBRA covers?
Yes!

Have any of the files used for these compendiums been remastered?
We've worked with Hasbro to source the available files. G.I. Joe Order of Battle #1–4 and G.I. Joe Special #1 have been restored, but there are no plans for further restoration at this time.

These books have so many pages! Have you accounted for gutter loss?
Yes! Unlike previous publishers, we've painstakingly formatted all 4,800+ pages in these collections to provide little to no gutter loss.

Any plans to increase the trim size and make these books oversized?
There are no plans for a trim size/format change at this time.

Special Items & Bookplates

I'm eligible for the Storm Shadow card. How do I get it?
If you backed a previous Skybound campaign or signed up for the G.I. Joe mailing list, the card will be automatically added to your pledge in BackerKit after the campaign ends.

How will the new bookplates be added to the campaign?
New bookplates will be added in the form of new tiers. We will announce the date and time in advance so there are no surprises. You'll be able to switch to these new tiers as soon as they are available. For additional questions, contact GIJoeKickstarter@Skybound.com.
